It is amazing how fast time goes by. Since I wrote last Abigail turned 3 and the soother fairy came and traded a doll for Abigail's soother ands it worked! She is also almost daytime potty trained. She wears the panties but occasionally waits too long before realizing she needs to go and starts in them. But we are making progress.
We spent a wonderful 8 days out in Nanaimo on Vancouver Island and had an amazing visit with Lowyn and Heather and their family. It was hard to leave that beautiful city and come back to the prairies. (ps Heather, I did get a bit bigger diamond to replace the one I lost. Thanks for putting the bug in Landon's ear:).
Landon had another birthday and we unfortunately did not do much because we were recovering from our trip. But we did sing to him and had cake.
It has been a busy week and I am very glad that it is done. It has been nice to spend time with Landon this week end as we have not been seeing much of him this last week between work and his church calling (hoping to see a change with the work end of things). It was also my turn for Joy School which was a lot of fun to have those children here and celebrate families. Skai and Esther had soccer this week and we also registered Skai for Summer Camp for learning how to ride a horse ( an essential talent to know while living in southern Alberta). Since she was little she has had this fascination for horses and a desire to ride, so I got in contact with a ranch here and they suggested having her start off with the camp and go from there. We went out to the ranch on Wednesday and met lady in charge and met the horses. Skai is very excited that she is going to learn to be a real cowgirl like Sister Bikman in our ward.
Friday was Esther's 5th birthday and she was up bright and early with excitement and woke us up to remind us that it was her birthday. Then Saturday she was up just as early and wanted to start her birthday party which wasn't going to happen for another 4 hours. She was so excited to be 5 and to have a princess party with some friends and girl cousins.
Well amidst all the business of this month we also managed to get everything in our garden (just have squash left to plant). Our onions are doing great and our peas are poking up out of the ground. The girls even have a section each of the garden where they could plant what ever they wanted to and they are responsible for their garden this summer. We are enthusiastic about the prospects of a good growing season and anticipate a great harvest come this fall.
Last night Landon and I left the girls at home with Taya, even Rutha, and went to the adult session of stake conference. It was nice to have that time with Landon, and it was a momment that I needed after this week. Thank you Taya. Conference today was wonderful as it always is, and I am always impressed with how well our girls behave at them (some times are better than others, but this was a good time). Now we get to enjoy a quiet afternoon together as a family.
I am very thankful for the quiet momments that come when we realize that Heavenly Father does love each of us and let us know that everything will turn out just fine. He provides insights little by little on how to better ourselves and our circumstances, and He sends angels to help us along the way. For this I am thankful for this day.
